It Begins

Last week I got sick of feeling lethargic, bloated, and overall icky, so I decided to make a change.  My eating habits are complete garbage, I get no physical activity, and I feel terrible about myself.  That was the first step, realizing and acknowledging that there is a problem.  I'm now in Step Two.

Step Two involves no soda and little to no junk food (ice cream, cakes, cookies, candy, chocolate, etc.).  I absolutely love Coke.  I will drink buckets of it in a day without batting an eye.  Problem is, you get addicted to it that way.  "Just drink diet!" you say.  Not so easy.  I despise diet soda.  I'd rather completely go without than drink the sham of a drink diet soda is.  So, that's what I'm doing.  It's Day Three and I have had no soda since this started.

The junk food is getting better.  I've had a chocolate dipped caramel granola bar.  I'm not really sure how those actually even qualify as a granola bar...  There's caramel and chocolate and fat and deliciousness, but hardly anything seems "granola" about it.  Still, for me, this is a start.  The way I've been eating lately I would've had about three of those, two Caramellos, a Ben & Jerry's ice cream pint, among other things in the past three days.

I'm still not eating well, but I've cut out some of the junk.  We get into our new house this week, and I plan to start fresh by stocking the kitchen with good-for-you food.  I'll have a full kitchen to prep healthy meals.  Soon, I'll be getting my treadmill back.  For now, I'll walk around the neighborhood.

I'm feeling good about this.
